Summer School: Stem Cells & Regenerative Medicine

Introduction

This summer school will provide a critical analysis of contemporary issues in stem cell biology.

Major themes include:

  • Biology of stem cells
    • Embryonic stem cells
    • Foetal stem cells
    • Adult stem cells
  • Clinical applications of stem cell research
  • Ethical and societal issues

Summer school programme

Summer school participants will have the opportunity to interact with leaders in the stem cell field, and explore the application of microarray and imaging technologies to stem cell research.

The programme also includes:

  • in-depth lectures
  • poster sessions
  • demonstration workshops
  • networking opportunities
  • time to explore the island of Hydra

The summer school will be held at the Bratsera Hotel in Hydra, Greece.

Who can apply?

The summer school is open to postgraduate research students, postdoctoral researchers, senior researchers, clinical training fellows and technicians from universities, research institutes and industry, working in stem cell biology or related fields.

How to apply

Eurostemcell applicants

Non-EuroStemCell applicants

Please submit a current CV (including publications) and covering letter (not more than one page), outlining:

  • your current research objectives
  • why you want to attend this summer school
  • whether you have worked with stem cells before
  • any previous involvement in the public communication of science

All applicants should also complete and fax back a cover sheet (Word file, 149 KB).

Applications should be received no later than 5pm, Tuesday 12th July 2005.

Course fees 

The fee for non-EuroStemCell researchers is €490. This fee includes tuition, materials, and some meals. You will be responsible for making your own arrangements for travel, accommodation and meals not detailed in the programme. Information to help you choose your own accommodation will be posted on this site.
