Training

Stem cell research is fast-moving and technically demanding. EuroStemCell’s training programme helps scientists stay ahead of the latest developments in this field, by promoting the exchange of knowledge, expertise and techniques. Through summer schools, training exchanges and dedicated workshops we aim to foster pan-European collaboration, both within and outside the consortium.

Open training opportunities

EuroStemCell has developed a series of training and career development opportunities open to those outside the consortium.

Summer Schools

A really great experience for me and a wonderful opportunity to meet people of my field

"There was a special atmosphere around the posters"

"A perfect place to stimulate useful ideas"

First held in September 2005, EuroStemCell’s annual Hydra summer school is the leading European summer school on:
• Stem cell biology – embryonic, foetal and adult systems
• Clinical applications and disease modelling
• Ethical, societal and regulatory issues

In a unique island location, the summer school offers an in-depth scientific programme and unparalleled access to leading stem cell scientists.

The next summer school will be held in September 2008.

Other opportunities to connect with fellow researchers
Our annual Advances in Stem Cell Research conference represents an important gathering of the European stem cell community, and our Clinical Workshops series aims to bring basic and clinical scientists together to map the route to the clinic in specific disease groups.

Internal Training Program

Short and Medium term exchange visits
This flexible exchange programme allows visits to participating EuroStemCell laboratories. Aimed at post-graduate students, post-doctoral scientists, advanced researchers and senior technical staff, this scheme facilitates collaborative research and the transfer of key technologies between participating laboratories.

Practical training
EuroStemCell researcher can also access specialist practical training via workshops aimed at advanced researchers and senior technicians.

The Internal Training Program is available to researchers participating in the EuroStemCell project.
